Shōgi
Shōgi, a version of chess, is another traditional game played in Japan. Though the rules of shogi are similar to chess, there are a few major difference. Shogi is a 2-player game. The players alternate turns moving their pieces around a 9x9 (instead of chess's 8x8) and try to capture the opponent's king. One major difference is that captured pieces may be dropped on the board in place of moving a piece on a player's turn.
